To honour a promise to Tommy to hold an annual "party" in his name in remembrance of him (and for his friends to have a wonderful time!)

To raise funds for Trinity Hospice & local palliative care services.

To showcase local bands and give them the opportunity to appear at a live, open-air festival.

Since the concept of Tommyfest was first formed by a few of Tom's enthusiastic friends, gathered in Brenda's living room on the 1st May 2006, they (optimistically) planned to put on a festival by September 2006!

And somehow, flying by the seat of their pants, they did it! - managing to cram what is realistically a year's work into four months, managing to raise the sum of £3,000 for trinity Hospice.

It soon became apparent that following this success we would have to think about charity status, and during the application process, we put on a second even more successful festival in 2007, raising £5,000 for the Hospice.

In December 2007 charity status was achieved which has given this venture the recognition it deserves.
